Dexter Gate

Dexter Gate won the Centennial Award at the Harvard Club where the Copley Society of Art has an invitational exhibit in honor of the Club’s Centennial celebration. It was also purchased by Boston Private Bank (which sponsored the exhibit) for Harvard’s permanent collection.

June 2006

Beacon Hill Doorway

received a Merit Award in the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society 27th International Juried Exhibit.  The exhibit was juried by Tom Sgouros.  Juror of Awards, Chris Krupinski, said of this painting: “One would think that by using brilliant blue for the door on the right side of the painting that the composition would be really off, but she enters blue on the ground on the left and on the brick just subtly enough to balance the door.  The blue door gives the painting such a nice feeling.  Everything is nice about this piece.”

“The strength and rhythm of the figures against the softness of the trees…. Depth comes from appropriate detail where needed. The artist has a strong sense of design and composition and reflects the atmosphere of a wintry day. The paint is expertly applied.”

“Flowers on the Exchange” was the recent winner of a $1,000 award from the Hudson Valley Art Association in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. It was the top watercolor award in the Association’s 74th Annual Exhibition held at the Newington-Cropsey Foundation Gallery of Art. Latanision is also an invited member of the Association
